Project Description:

Remark’s Studio is located in the North Charleston neighborhood of Oak Terrace Preserve.  We have had many opportunities to be involved in the continued development of the public realm for the community.  The bio-swales are one of the key features for storm water management.  We have contributed our expertise in design to rework some of the design features and plant choices so the swales function properly and provide a visual amenity to the neighborhood.  We have also had the opportunity to design several of the pocket parks; creating places for neighbors young and old to play and relax.

The South Carolina Native Plant Symposium was held in Charleston this weekend, and JR Kramer was one of the many wonderful speakers for the event.  He was part of a panel discussion titled ‘How to make native species more accessible in the trade’ along with renowned entamologist Doug Tallamy, Kari Whitley and Nancy Hart.  A tour of the Oak Terrace Preserve ‘green’ neighborhood was also one of the events for the weekend.  JR lead the tour through the neighborhood where REMARK’s studio is located, ending at the home of REMARK with a tour of the modern, native plant garden on the premises.

The South Carolina Native Plant Society is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and protection of native plant communities in South Carolina.  You can learn more about the society at http://scnps.org/
